2017 Resolutions Dead Already?

Maybe you have big goals for 2017…

Finally get that online business up and running.

Double or triple the profits from your current business.

Or put systems in place so you can take that month-long vacation around the world you’ve always dreamed of.

According to research at the University of Scranton, only around 8% of people achieve their New Year’s Resolutions.

One of the reasons for this is people set too many large goals that compete with each other.

You don’t have the time or attention to focus on making huge changes in every area of your life.

You’ll wear yourself out by running in circles without accomplishing anything.

Instead, put together small systems or easy habits.

As an example, at my heaviest I was 235 pounds. Now I stay between 165 and 170 and have for years.

My very first action to lose weight was simply to cut out soda and replace it with water.

That’s it. That’s the ONLY thing I did at first. That one action got me under 200 pounds.

From there, I made a plan to be consistent with exercise. And then started concentrating on the calories and types of calories I ate. One step at a time.

You could do the same thing with your online business.

Maybe you commit to writing one email a day. Sure, you’ll do other things in your business, but that’s your firm commitment. Do it first before anything else.

Or you commit to producing one new video a day.

Or you commit to brainstorming and testing one new ad on Facebook each day.

Develop ONE success habit and stay consistent with it.

I’m all for having BIG goals, but you need to plan ‘baby steps’ on your way to those goals.

What is one small action you can take RIGHT NOW to reach your goal?

Let’s say you have the goal of creating Freedom by removing yourself from the business.

When you look at everything you need to reach this goal, it’s easy to become overwhelmed.

What can you do immediately to start moving toward your goal?

You could go over your past responses in customer service and start creating some ‘response templates’ you can use to outsource customer service.

Or you start somewhere else. The key is to break it up into small bites.

If you’re faced with eating the entire elephant at once, you’re going to paralyzed. It looks impossible!

If you’re not sure where the highest and best use of your time is to reach your online goals, that’s where I come in.
