40 Years to Life for a Wage Slave

wage slaveMy wife and I love our subscription to Netflix.

We’ll find an old show and watch all the episodes over a few weeks. Our current interest is a show called “Day Break.”

Los Angeles Detective Brett Hopper is framed for murder of the district attorney and in his own loved ones are in danger. He has to uncover clues to the homicide while running for his freedom.

All pretty normal except Hopper is stuck repeating the worst day of his life…over and over again.

Every day he wakes and turns to the clocks as it flips to 6:18 AM. He still feels any of his injuries from the day before. But he has to do it ALL over again as he tries all different ways to solve the mystery.

Have you ever felt you were in that same position?

Every day is the same. You get up. You go to work. You come home. You veg out on the couch. And you do it all over again the next day.

No excitement. No surprises. And nothing to look forward to.

That’s why I love the Internet Lifestyle.

You can build the lifestyle you want.

If you love writing, do it.

If you love coaching and working with others, do that.

If you love the excitement of putting together exciting videos, then you can follow that desire as well.

Yes, you will have difficulties and problems which crop up. And yes, you’re probably going to spend some portion of your day doing some things you don’t enjoy as much. But you can design the majority of your life around what you love doing.

And no day has to be the same unless you want it to.

You could visit the world. Or you could buy an RV and travel in your area. Or you could stay at home working side-by-side with your spouse and children.

You can make a difference in the lives of your subscribers and your customers. You can help people solve problems that have plagued them for years.

And you get to choose how you do it. It might not always be easy, but it’s worth it for the reward you have access to once you get it moving.

The last thing I’d want to be a lifelong wage slave.

That’s not a putdown of jobs. Some people LOVE their jobs. And if you love your job, that’s awesome!

I sucked as an employee personally. And I’m sure my bosses would have told you the same about me.

A “wage slave” is someone who does their job every day looking forward to retirement.

One day, after they’ve done their 40 years of hard time, they’ll get to finally retire.

A murderer could get off with a lighter sentence than this!

It’s not worth it. If you’re in that wage slave position looking forward every day to a retirement that may never come, DO SOMETHING to solve the mystery.

Do whatever it takes to get out of that position. Study a trade. Go back to college. Start your own online business. Cut your expenses to the bone if necessary and do whatever it takes to move forward.

It’s not worth wasting your life, repeating the same miserable existence every single day.
