For my good friends outside the US, Black Friday is that day where stores advertise some of their best offers of the year…and crowds go crazy buying everything in sight. You can expect pandemonium and even a few fist fights each year.
I’ve bravely went out on Black Friday before just to see how wild it can get.
It’s much easier to just buy online…where most of the same specials are available Thanksgiving anyway.
But this isn’t about all the money you can spend next week.
It’s about making more money.
My clients have been scheduling their Black Friday specials.
Normally they’ll launch an irresistible offer right before Thanksgiving and run into the middle of the next week.
That’s the key.
Create an irresistible offer.
A lot of people ask, “What can I say to get people to buy?”
That’s a fine question. Copy is important. But the offer is even more important.
Here’s a better question to ask first, “What can I offer to get people to buy?”
Black Friday is popular because retail goes all out to make the best offers with a hard deadline. Many of the ‘doorbusters’ are only available until noon on Friday or if they sell out before then.
An irresistible offer with a hard deadline creates a buying frenzy.
What can you offer?
One client will be offering a two-for-one special on their products.
Another is giving a 65% OFF discount (that’s pretty crazy).
One of my clients offers his membership with some extra bonuses on a $1 trial for the first month and $29.95/month after that.
He’s done it a couple of years now…producing over 700 buyers the first time. Do the math and that adds up to over $20,000 in monthly residual income. That’s easily an extra 6 figures per year from one special offer for Black Friday.
But are you ready for a little secret?
There’s nothing all that special about Black Friday. It’s just an event.
It’s just one reason-why you could make an irresistible offer. People know it’s Black Friday and they expect you to make your best offer.
But I’ve seen similar and even better results from offers at all different times of the year.
It comes down to those basic steps.
Make an Irresistible Offer to a hungry buying audience.
Give a good reason-why you’re making such an incredible offer (it good be a holiday, a new product launch, your anniversary, a tax sale, or whatever else is a true reason why behind the offer).
And use a hard headline. This special is only good until X…and then you miss out.
