Guru Tip Sabotages Your Sales

Listening to gurus can be hazardous to your wealth.

Many gurus test one technique, get decent results, and build an entire system around it.

It worked for them once. They believe it applies to every situation and every market.

Nothing could be further from the truth.

That’s the reason it’s so important to test your marketing.

No one…including me…has everything figured out in every situation.

There are multiple strategies being passed around as fact online that will sabotage your sales and profits.

We only have time for one of them right now.

Has anyone ever told you to ‘warm new subscribers up’ before going for the sale?

You might even be using that strategy right now. If you are, who knows how much money you’ve given up?

On the surface, the strategy sounds good. Send out content and build a relationship before making an offer. That’s reasonable and makes sense.

But let’s look at it from another angle.

Someone watches one of your videos, sees one of your ads, or hears you on a podcast.

They go to your website, read about your Lead Magnet offer, and subscribe to your email list.

They just gave you multiple “Yes” answers in a row. They watched your video. They clicked on your link. They subscribed to your list.

Now you throw the brakes on all that momentum …and you make them wait a week before showing them your offer?

Imagine a sales person in that same scenario. A prospect listens intently to the entire presentation. They ask to see more. They’re nodding their head “Yes” all throughout.

Before the close, the sales person immediately packs up their bags and leaves…saying they’ll be back next week to finish the sale.

That’s crazy!

Yet, you hear this all the time online.

Several clients have tested this and discovered how many more sales they made by continuing the momentum.

Test going for the sale immediately, especially if it’s a lower ticket sale (under $100 for example).

If you’re using double opt-in confirmation, you could go for the sale on the thank you page. Tell the prospect to go check their email and confirm their address to access their free gift, but check out this offer before they go.

Or you could go for the sale immediately after delivering your free gift. Several clients have tested a free video as their Lead Magnet. They give value in the video and do a quick call-to-action at the end of the video with a BIG LINK under the video over to their main sales page.

We often see 40% or more of front-end sales happen within 24 hours of someone joining the email list.

If you haven’t been going for a sale immediately, how much money have you left on the table?

Some people won’t buy immediately. That’s OK. They’ll get another email tomorrow.

You can still give value and build the relationship while giving those who are ready to buy an opportunity to take action now.

That’s also why you see a link to buy in almost every post.
