A lot of people hate this 4-letter word.

In fact, even mentioning this word scares readers off.

And no, I’m not talking about “work”. Although that’s often a terrifying word to business opportunity seekers.

Instead, the word I have in mind is…

Sell.

People freak out over that word!

They want money, but they don’t want to sell.

You’ll often see online offers that say…

“No Selling Required.”

It’s like the word ‘sell’ is some kind of dirty word.

Yet, no money exchanges hands until something is sold.

As I shared in my last email, the stories you tell yourself set the GPS of your future.

Too many people are sabotaging their own results by telling themselves negative stories about selling.

Selling isn’t about manipulation.

Sure, there are people who use it that way. They trick you or deceive you. Or maybe they try to overpower your objections with their ‘ninja’ closing techniques.

I’ve dealt with several car salespeople like that.

I’m sure you have a few stories you could tell as well.

But what about good experiences with selling?

The heart of selling is simply a conversation.

Can you think back to when a parent, teacher, or mentor persuaded you to make a good decision in your life?

They ‘sold’ you on a better choice than you would have made without them.

What about when a friend recommended a movie or some other product you enjoyed?

Or perhaps you gave to a charity?

You heard their story and it persuaded you to make a difference in the lives of others.

Have you ever been to a job interview?

If so, then you’ve already experienced one of the most uncomfortable sales environments. The interviewers were selling you on why you should work there…and you had to sell them on why you were the right choice for the job.

Selling in the online world is so much easier!

It’s simply about relationships and conversations.

Find people who are already predisposed to the ideas you have to share.

Tell your story.

Show you understand their problems. Tell them how you can help them.

Build trust through case studies and other evidence. Present them with an offer. Give them a reason to take action.

Do it over and over again.

No uncomfortable face-to-face conversations required.

Just share an organized message and story consistently…and your ideal audience will self-identify themselves. They’ll raise their hand by showing interest. They’ll subscribe to your list. They’ll buy.

My step-by-step persuasion formula will help you clarify your message.

Create a one-page persuasion map for your business and any individual product or service you want to focus on. Then create all your marketing tools such as websites, emails, videos, and more based on your map.
