“What is the #1 BIGGEST PROBLEM beginners have when wanting to start an internet business today?”
That’s easy. It’s overwhelm.
I’ve corresponded with thousands of beginners in the years I’ve been coaching and without fail, they all feel overwhelmed by the opportunities available online.
Should they start a blog? What plugins do they need?
Which social media sites should they participate on?
Should they start as an affiliate, create their own info products, or just sell ad space on their site?
Should they do podcasting, videos, publicity, PPV, PPC, SEO, etc.
Not only do they have all these options, but we also have all these terms we use that can be confusing to someone just getting started. It’s almost like learning a brand new language!
But one of the worst issues is how this produces Greener Pastures syndrome. Grass is always greener on the other side of the fence.
No matter what they choose to start doing, something looks easier, faster, and more productive than what they’re doing right now.
Let’s say for example that you choose to focus on building your list and promoting affiliate programs primarily using a blog and search engine optimization.
Maybe you purchased one of those “rank in 7 days or less” courses…and perhaps you even get a few successes on low competition keywords.
The more valuable buyer keyword phrases take longer to rank, so you start getting antsy. Positions aren’t coming as quickly as you were promised. And even though you keep putting up more content and securing links, sometimes it seems like nothing is happening.
Then the product launch merry-go-round comes through again. The new product being promoted on all the lists is about how Facebook is the way to go.
With all the promises and case studies you see, you are convinced of how much better that opportunity would be for you. So you jump on it…get started…and find out it’s not quite as easy as it was presented either.
Next week you’ll have the opportunity for Greener Pastures again as another method is promoted as the best way to go today.
Here’s a rule to remember. It’s NEVER as easy as you expect it to be when you’re starting out. It will take more time and more money than you budget for it. And it requires consistent FOCUS to get the results you’re looking for.
If you’re always jumping the fence looking for greener and easier pastures, you won’t master the skills you need to succeed where you’re at.
Make your choices. They may not all be the right ones. And you can pretty much guarantee they won’t be the “perfect” choices. But make a choice and get moving.
If you’re just starting out, I’d recommend going with a system like we lay out in the A-to-Z Internet Blueprints available here: http://www.thetruthprints.com
They will show you step-by-step how to get started in your own online information empire…starting from scratch of choosing your initial niche market all the way to creating multiple streams of income in your new business.
