The passion and excitement you feel in business has a LOT to do with the clients you attract.

Even though this applies to any type of business, this is especially true for consultants, coaches, and other service providers.

One client from HELL can destroy the love you feel for your business and lifestyle.

They don’t implement. Don’t get results. And have an overall sour attitude.

If you’ve been in business for years, you’ve probably run into at least one of these. And you know what I’m talking about here.

I haven’t experienced a negative client like this in years!

And a lot of that has to do with my focus on attracting the right clients.

I love helping energetic entrepreneurs who want to grow their business, implement new approaches, and test what works for their market.

My clients want to continually move forward.

There are certain traits I look for in clients. And not everyone qualifies.

You can see one of my techniques in action in pretty much every email I send.

I’m actively repelling the ‘Get Rich Quick’ mentality.

If someone thinks they can set up a valueless website and instantly become rich with just a few button clicks, they are not qualified to be my client.

I’ve had people email me that I’m too negative at times. And I’m OK with that.

The Internet has enabled me to live an amazing lifestyle. And I have clients doing the same. I have a client who has a team in place that handles everything in his business. That means he could have less than a one hour work week if he wanted (he invests his time in another business now).

I have other clients who travel for months at a time all while earning six and seven figure incomes. I’ve seen people create their dream Internet Lifestyles.

But it’s not easy to get there. It takes time, effort, and dedication.

Anyone who doesn’t want to hear that part isn’t right for my audience.

If you’re not willing to repel a portion of the market, you’ll find it difficult to attract YOUR audience. You can’t please everyone.

But there are other techniques you can put in place as well.

You need to create a consistent lead flow of potential clients coming in. This can be done by establishing your brand, sharing contrarian content, and offering products in the marketplace that attract clients which upgrade to higher levels of access with you.

That’s one of the reasons some clients have been on my waiting list for years before taking an open position in my program.

There are also ways to sift and sort potential clients by having them fill out a short application or go through an interview.

Having that consistent lead flow allows you to quit trying to sell yourself to clients. You can turn the process around and have potential clients compete to work with you.

You go into that initial client interview looking for the people who you can help and that you’ll enjoy working with.

Be willing to say NO to a potential client. That can be hard if you don’t have heavy demand for your services yet. If a client isn’t right for your program…or you don’t feel you the right one to help them…be willing to tell them so.

If you have a ‘bad feeling’ about a potential client, listen to your gut. Otherwise you may be making a very painful mistake.

Once you have a consistent lead flow, this becomes a whole lot easier.
