Wow, now that was a title.
But you had to read more, didn’t you?
You couldn’t resist clicking on it.
I stole that subject line from John ‘The Autoresponder Guy’ McIntyre…with permission of course.
In my last post with all those winning subject lines I told you ‘open rates’ weren’t that important.
And they’re not.
Imagine for a moment that I sell a paleo diet program, but my email list is general weight loss.
They all want to lose weight, but they have different methods in mind.
Some may want low carb.
Others want low fat.
A majority want that new magical pill that melts fat away (don’t we all).
When sending an email to this list, it could have a general appeal…or it could be very focused.
Example #1: “50% off my new weight loss program today only”
Or the subject line could be more specific…
Example #2: “50% off my new paleo weight loss program today only”
The subject lines are similar but #1 is more likely to have a higher open rate.
People will see “paleo” and some of them will immediately disqualify it. They’ll say, “I don’t want that…”
You could replace that with “low carb,” “low fat,” “vegan” or any other specific word and have a similar result. Some
will disqualify it immediately.
And that’s OK. They wouldn’t have bought anyway.
Example #2 will get less opens, but may generate more sales…because it attracted the audience who was interested in that specific subject.
Open rates, clicks, and unsubscribes are just minor measurements. What matters at the end of the day is the amount of money you deposit in your bank account.
There is a lot of worthless, generic email advice out there.
That’s why I’m always excited when I meet someone of like mind who has tested and proven his methods with clients in dozens of different niches.
John ‘The Autoresponder Guy’ McIntyre is an autoresponder copywriter who has honed his chops inside of live businesses…using very similar systems to what I personally share.
Check out his EXACT 4-step process of creating powerful autoresponders that get people engaged, responsive, and ready to buy.
Why am I sharing someone else’s autoresponder course even though I offer my own?
It may seem strange, but it’s not.
I own John’s course…plus probably a dozen others. His is one of the best out there and even I picked up a few new ideas from it.
Email is such a ‘core foundation’ of online profits that you owe it to yourself and your family to study any proven materials you can about it. Just a SMALL increase in conversion of your emails pays huge dividends.
Perhaps he’ll persuade you to give it a shot even if I wasn’t able to get through to you…
