A few of my friends joke that everything seems to take twice as long and cost twice as much as you expect.
There are so many pieces of the puzzle. And unlike a puzzle that sits there on the table waiting for you to put it together, these pieces move around and hide themselves whenever you’re not looking. Sometimes your puzzle pieces go running off right in front of you!
With that said…why do some clients reach launch velocity so much faster than everyone else?
I’ve seen clients do $10,000 within a month.
That’s not normal. That’s not even close to normal for someone starting out from scratch. Your results will most definitely vary.
But why does it happen for a few…when most struggle and take much, much longer to get it moving?
Here’s one big, in-your-face clue to their secret.
They know how to sell.
They come into the online world with some type of previous sales experience. They ran their own brick-and-mortar business. They’ve been a sales person. They speak from the stage. They’ve been in a high pressure corporate environment where they had to meet with clients and sell them on big projects.
They don’t shy away from sales.
They embrace it.
I’ve seen other clients who move forward quickly…not quite as quickly as those with previous sales experience…and they also willingly embrace the desire to sell.
They practice their copywriting.
It’s the secret to their success.
That was the secret to my success starting out. I dove head first into the world of copywriting, following experts like Gary Halbert, Jay Abraham, and John Carlton.
The beauty of focusing on copy is you don’t have to sell anyone in person. It’s all written down. If you do a video, you just follow the script. No one in your face. No rejection…except nasty emails at times…and you can ignore those losers.
You can listen to all those hypesters telling you “No Selling Required”, but you’re just going to waste time and energy chasing pink elephants.
Selling is required. But it doesn’t have to difficult.
There is secret to sales. Find a hungry audience. Make them an irresistible offer.
Copy is important of course, but an irresistible offer with OK copy will beat great copy with an OK offer every time.
