Death of Email

I’ve made a full-time living through email marketing for close to two decades now.

When it really comes down to it, the basic system I follow is pretty simple.

Get people on an email list.

Deliver value and build relationships with your subscribers.

Make irresistible offers that help subscribers solve their problems and reach their dreams.

There are a lot of little tweaks that my clients and I use throughout this system, but that is the basic foundation of what I do.

Over the years, I’ve been told email is going to die…and something else will replace it.

For example, I originally heard that blogs and RSS feeds would replace email.

Blogs are a great way to build your email list by attracting visitors to your site and delivering value along with a promise of more value through email.

But after years, the average internet user still barely even knows what an RSS feed is.

Then it was social media.

Social media is another great way to communicate with your audience, deliver value to them, and transition them into joining your email list.

Others have said mobile texting will do away with email. Yet, that has provided another useful tool for staying in contact with customers…but still nowhere near the level of email.

Some even predicted email would die when Gmail added their promotional tab.

You just can’t kill it.

My clients who focus on email continue to grow.

One client reported just last week that another one of his paid advertising funnels is self-liquidating.

That means he uses ads to get people to join his email list. He then immediately promotes his first product and the sales of that product are paying for the advertising.

All those subscribers are essentially free…as his list grows every single day.

It’s an enviable position to be in…especially when you have several traffic sources churning in new leads 24 hours a day 7 days a week like clockwork.

And just like other clients, he continues to earn more from his list each month as it grows.

Whenever I hear someone say that email is dying, I know they’re NOT sending the right kind of emails.

The results speak for themselves.

It’s not enough just to have a list and send emails to them.

You need to focus your attention here.

Send the right kind of emails.

Position yourself with authority. Write with empathy. Listen intently.

It’s not just about sending out content. Your readers are overwhelmed with content. There are millions of pages worth of ‘content’ only a few clicks away on Google.

It’s about making a deeper connection.

Do that…and you’ll know what offers to make.
