If you have a decent-sized responsive list, then $1,000 is nothing.
Your next email could be worth a lot more than this. Just imagine this email talking in multiples of 10x, 100x, or more.
What if I was put in charge of a list that only had several hundred people on it…and the next email had to earn $1,000 or else the dog gets it?
What would I do?
How would I stack the deck in my favor.
1. Solve a big problem for the audience.
Don’t guess at this. Figure out where the subscribers came from and why they originally subscribed to the list.
If we had a series of emails to send, we’d do a survey. But if the very next email has to succeed…that means doing the research.
Review the audience. Look at what competitors are selling. See what feedback you can get from forums and groups. Get on the phone with some people in the audience to ask them.
If you want a big win, you need to go after a big problem they’re already spending money to solve.
2. Go high ticket.
Your odds of success multiply if you only have to get 1 sale to hit your goal.
You’re not going to create an offer for everyone. Instead, sell to the top 1% of your list.
3. Make the offer irresistible.
Give them a BIG benefit.
If possible, don’t sell a ‘do-it-yourself’ kind of offer.
Instead create a ‘done-for-you’ offer.
In other words, when you absolutely have to make the sale, don’t offer the copywriting course. Offer to write their copy for them.
Come up with a way to make the offer risk-free.
4. Make a hard deadline.
It’s not uncommon to see 50% or more of your sales from a 5-day special offer come in the last 24 hours.
But if you’re offering a limited done-for-you special offer, you could use even stronger scarcity.
You’re only offering this to the 3 clients. Once those slots are taken, this offer at this price with these bonuses is gone.
With a larger list, you’re going to have to figure out a way to offer it to a larger audience. What could you offer to just 50, 100, or 500 of your subscribers?
5. Make it super-easy to respond.
