Have you ever noticed how many of the stories in comics, books, and movies are orphans?
It’s part of the protagonists’ crisis. They’ve lost ‘everything.’ They’re the underdog.
They’re alone.
Because everyone feels that way at times. We’re all looking for someone who understands us.
We emotionally bond with these heroes and root for them.
And that’s where Batman stands out.
He has a motley cast of villains.
He has the Joker. How many villains get a movie made about them?
But he is just one of many villains: Bane, Penguin, Catwoman, Poison Ivy, Riddler, Two-Face, Hush, Ra’s Al Ghul, Harley, Strange, Killer Croc, Freeze, Deathstroke, etc.
This list could include dozens of names.
The best characters are those who’ve battled the greatest villains.
What challenges have you faced?
How many problems have you helped customers and clients overcome?
What frustrates you about ‘business-as-usual’ in your market?
Where can you make a stand? It’s those stances that cause buyers to gravitate to you while repelling those who identify with your message.
That’s one secret a lot of beginners don’t want to accept. Finding our voice means some people aren’t to like you. That’s OK. They probably don’t even like themselves.
Something else about heroes like Batman…they have an alter-ego.
He disguises his voice.
This can be especially for useful for those who are shy and introverted.
When you go online, imagine yourself as a super hero.
What if you could not fail?
What if you took a shot of confidence?
You’re the same person, but you’re a more confident, more outgoing version of yourself.
Eliminate weasel words like actually, maybe, and probably.
Instead of just quoting other authorities, take the position of authority yourself.
You’re the expert.
Make it your super-hero alter ego voice. At least when you’re getting started.
