It’s easy to be jaded after being in online marketing for over 2 decades.
There are so many people in this business who just want a quick hit and run.
All they think about is how to squeeze more money out of their customers.
What about adding a 4th upsell to their sequence…to the point where customers are just begging to reach the end?
I’ve been to conferences where gurus joked with each other in the back of the room about taking advantage of attendees…knowing none of their buyers would never do anything.
But there are also a lot of people who care!
They really want to make a difference in the lives of others.
And I get the pleasure of working alongside many of them.
Sure, we talk about how to optimize their websites, create effective upsells, and what their customers want to buy next.
But we also talk about strategies to get more of their customers consuming their products.
We discuss what causes success for their clients, and how they can improve the odds for every buyer.
They really have a passion not just for their topic, but for their audience as well.
They see an audience that is hurting, and they want to help them.
For example, a client who generates leads for a vertical business niche is continually refining all his systems not just to produce more leads…but to produce better qualified ones that are easier for his clients to close.
A client in weight loss recently told me how moved he was when he received a testimonial about how someone’s life has changed (not just their weight – but the overall effect he’s had on their life).
I’ve seen this same attitude across many clients’ markets, from business to tennis to weight loss to investing.
Make more money by offering more real value.
The question we’re continually asking is how we can leverage what we’re doing to help even more people.
A lot of people will tell you that doing business online is easy.
You’ll face a lot of obstacles along the way.
If you’re going to stick it out, and overcome the challenges…you need to find your big WHY.
It’s OK if part of that ‘Why’ is selfish. You want to make more money. You want freedom from that job. You want to prepare for a better retirement. All of those are important.
But an outward focused ‘Why’ is even more powerful. Who do you want to reach? How can you make a real difference in their lives?
How will people continue to suffer if you don’t share your message?
How many people will experience less in their lives if you stay quiet?
How many people will miss out on the best they could have had if you don’t help them?
You have a unique blend of natural talents, knowledge, and life experience. You can develop a business that helps people in a way no one else can.
People are waiting for the value only you can bring.
That’s why I do what I do. I get to have a hand not just in my direct customers’ lives, but by helping clients in all different markets, I have a reach much further than I could ever have on my own.
