Keep it simple.
Email is not about getting fancy or providing in-depth information.
It’s about making a connection and helping your readers experience an Aha moment.
Become their guide to a whole new world.
Give them a glimpse through your eyes for a moment about what’s truly possible.
Life can be tough, but there is a better way.
That’s the pathway you provide through your products and services.
Here are 3 quick email triggers that will improve your profits from email.
1: Easy to Read
You’ll often hear sales copy should be at around 6th grade reading level.
Email should be even lower, perhaps around 3rd grade level.
Your audience is distracted. They’re scanning their emails with their finger over the delete button.
Hook them with the subject and get into the message quickly.
Use short sentences. This is especially true of the first sentence. Give them something they can read instantly.
Keep many paragraphs only one sentence long. Mix it up a little for variety, but focus on scannable text with a lot of white space.
2: One Golden Thread
Include a simple story.
Or create a word picture.
Focus on one golden thread for the email.
Here’s what this is about and what’s in it for the reader.
Use your origin story within the first week of email follow-ups.
Drop in stories about your mentors, discoveries, and day-to-day life.
Share case studies from your clients.
Add in little authority tidbits in passing about your accomplishments or connections.
3: Natural Transition to Offer
There is no reason to send an email that doesn’t lead your readers toward one of your offers.
Infotainment mixes in value, stories, and promotions all in one.
You don’t need separate emails just for ‘value’ or ‘relationship building’.
All your emails can deliver some element of value.
Every email can build the relationship.
And every email can point to your products or services.
You don’t have to keep your offers a secret.
Consider that a bonus email trigger. Stop selling from the back foot.
Never be ashamed to boldly say what you can do for your customers and clients.
If your products and services can really help your customers solve their desperate problems, then why would you keep them hidden for those who would most benefit?
And if you’re not confident in your products and services, you should find something else to offer.
