Your business doesn’t need to be complex to be profitable.

Beginners often create all kinds of barriers in their own way of getting started.

They’ll look at a business that has been online for more than a decade…and think they need to copy their business model.

It’s overwhelming when you try to model a business that’s built systems for years.

And complexity, even in a long-term business, isn’t always a good thing.

There have been many times where a client and I have done an 80/20 of their business.

One of the most profitable things you can do is look at the 20% that producing the majority of the returns, and either reduce or eliminate the 80%.

Save time. Save money. Get focused.

This is especially true when you’re starting out.

Don’t get distracted by all the bright shiny objects.

Create a simple business you can get up and running quickly.

For example, here’s a simple 3-step business plan.

1: Create an opt-in page with an irresistible Lead Magnet.

That’s the page you’re going to promote.

Ask people to opt-in to your list.

Add a thank you page that delivers the lead magnet and links over to an affiliate offer.

That’s right. You don’t even need to have your own product on day one.

Start out by focusing on the audience.

2: Send email broadcasts.

I like having an email welcome sequence, but you can start out with one thank you message that delivers your lead magnet.

Write emails as you go.

You’ll find your voice as you write. Talk about problems. Share your personal stories.

Be contrarian.

Show some personality.

Not every email is going to be a home run.

Take your best broadcasts and add them to your email welcome sequence.

3: Start with affiliate programs.

Build an audience. Find your message. Monetize.

Those are the 3 steps.

You can start out by promoting affiliate programs and finding out what your audience responds to.

Earn a little money while building your list.

Then, create your own offer.

Continuity, such as a membership site, is a great choice.

You could continue with this simple business model for years.

Get people on a list. Communicate regularly with them. Promote an offer that gives you a monthly income.

You don’t need dozens of products. That’s additional complexity as well.

Instead, focus on an offer that pays you every month.

This simple business plan can help you get started…and move you all the way to full-time.

Add other elements as needed….or keep it simple.

Autoresponder Alchemy will help you turn your list into consistent and ongoing income.

It will show you how to find your voice…and how to make offers that convert subscribers into buyers.

It does it all while giving you templates you can model to make the process easier.
