Do you ever hear voices in your head?

They tell you that you’ll never grow your internet business, because…

  • You’ve failed before.
  • You’re too old.
  • You don’t have the time.
  • You don’t have the money.
  • You’re not smart enough.
  • You don’t have the right connections.
  • You’re not good at writing.
  • You don’t have the right personality.
  • There is too much to learn.
  • Your market is too competitive.
  • Your ideas aren’t good enough.

I could list dozens of additional lies those inner voices may tell you.

I’ve heard some of these myself, and I’ve talked to clients who have faced all the above.

The question is how much is your head trash costing you?

You miss out on opportunities.

You only get a portion of the results you should have had, because you don’t give it your all.

And you give up right before you reach some of your biggest breakthroughs.

Here are 3 ways head trash sabotages your income in online business…

1: Procrastination

You dream about it, but you never move forward.

Or you have a list of activities you know you ‘should’ do, but you never get to them.

There are tons of articles out there about overcoming procrastination.

But the reality is that most procrastination occurs because you don’t see the ‘value’ right now.

Maybe you don’t believe it will work for you. You’re afraid you’re just wasting your time or money.

Or it feels like it will take too long to see the results. That’s one of the reasons we break activities into smaller steps, so there are little victories along the way.

It’s a whole lot easier just to do something you already know than to practice something new…even if the new activity is the one most likely to grow your income.

2: Stop doing what’s working.

You get over the procrastination hump, and there’s another barrier standing in the way.

The majority of things start small.

You write a blog post and only get a few visitors. You hear about so-and-so who started her blog and generated 100,000 visitors in the first 3 months. Why isn’t it working like that for you? Your head fills in all kinds of trash like you’re not good enough.

You run your first ad and you get a few sales, but you still lose a little money. Your head tells you this advertising thing must not be for you, since Joe Blow over there is earning 10x on his ads.

You’re going to be given dozens of opportunities to give up when you start your online business.

You need to tap into pig-headed stubbornness to keep moving forward in spite of any trash your head throws at you.

3: You don’t invest in yourself.

How can you invest in yourself if you don’t believe in yourself?

This doesn’t just mean purchasing products that provide the training you need…this also means investing the time to go through them multiple times.

Put what you learn into practice.

The skills you build today will serve you for the rest of your life.

Become a millionaire not for the million dollars, but for what it will make of you to achieve it.” Jim Rohn

I can tell you from personal experience that you have to start moving forward even when there is only a flicker of belief in yourself.

There were many times in the beginning where I felt like there was too much to learn…how was I ever go to make it?

But I kept moving forward…practicing skills like writing emails and creating products…and my success kept growing.
