It’s an incredible business, where you can experience freedom, fun, and fulfillment as you help your clients overcome challenges that have held them back for years.
But here’s the reality no one wants to talk about.
The majority of your customers don’t want your ‘course.’
Reading a 100-page manual or watching hours of video isn’t usually on the top of their list of fun things to do.
They’d rather watch Netflix.
They buy your course, because they have a desperate problem they want to solve or a burning desire they want to fulfill.
They’re looking for a ‘shortcut’ to reaching that end goal.
Creating an irresistible course isn’t about how much information you can pack into it.
It’s about providing them a bridge from where they are to where they want to be.
What problems will they run into on the way to the end goal?
How can you help them solve each of those problems quicker, easier, and more reliably than other solutions?
For example, let’s say you’re going to help life coaches attract their ideal clients online based on the proven system you’ve personally used.
The first problem is they need identify who their ideal clients are! You could create a video module that shows them how to research their audience and comes with a cheat sheet with step-by-step questions to help them paint a clear picture of their idea client.
Next, they need to package their expertise into an irresistible offer. And to make it easier, you’ll help them identify 3 to 6 steps in their system and turn it into a coaching program based on your templates.
They’ll need ‘bait’ to attract their ideal clients and move them toward the offer. Maybe you use an evergreen video based on Google slides. You’ll provide them with your slides as an example along with step-by-step instructions of how to modify the slides to fit their audience.
You’ll also provide them with your template opt-in sales copy and thank you pages where people register for a free consultation.
You could provide email follow-ups they can modify and plug into their autoresponder.
They need to attract leads into their system so you show them the ads you personally run and how they can model those for their market.
Map out all the problems your clients will face as they cross the bridge from the problem to the solution.
Each of these problems would be an objection they’d bring up of why your course wouldn’t work for them.
Solve each objection in advance.
Each module includes a template or tool along with videos that describe how to implement the system.
In a market like tennis, these could be specific drills. When teaching a foreign language, you’d include practice sessions on video.
You might include a couple of one-on-one calls or a series of group webinars in the package. Access to the ‘guru’ or their team, even on a limited basis, boosts the value and price.
Creating irresistible courses is about predicting and solving your clients’ objections upfront.
Not only will you sell more of your courses, but you’re sell them for more money as well.
