Love him or hate him, you have to admit Donald Trump knows how to attract an audience.
He has pretty much held the media captive over the past 6 months.
You can almost guarantee whatever he says will make headline news.
His celebrity has stolen the limelight from all the other presidential candidates.
And this isn’t a new thing. He has positioned himself a celebrity for years.
Even before he started his run for president, he was already being paid 1.5 million just to give a speech.
So what is it about him that attracts so much attention?
What is his secret sauce?
Just how much would it benefit you, your business, or even your cause if you could use just a little of it to position yourself as a mini-celebrity in your market?
In an overwhelmed world, becoming a celebrity authority in your market is the secret to cutting through all the noise.
It can become a shortcut to a buying decision for your prospects.
Without it, you quickly become just another commodify competing for the scraps.
With it, you become the in-demand resource able to charge premium prices.
It doesn’t matter how good you are at what you do if you can’t get anyone to pay attention to you.
Going against the grain and stirring up controversy is one of those secrets. Donald is an absolute master of this. But he’s not the only one.
Look at popular radio show hosts. They know how to get their audience’s blood boiling…either for them or against them.
Rush Limbaugh’s listeners for example even call themselves dittoheads. They would call in to his show just to tell everyone how much they agreed with him and it was taking up too much of his time. So they just started saying ditto.
His rant connected with what they were already feeling.
Of course this also meant a portion of his listeners couldn’t stand him. But did they turn him off? Oh, I’m sure some of them did. Others kept right on listening just so they could be angry at him. It wouldn’t matter to him whether they love him or hate him as long as they keep listening.
Boredom is death for a celebrity authority.
What myths, mistakes, and misconceptions are common in your industry?
What could you rant and get emotional about?
Who or what is the villain in your market that could take a stance against?
Know your audience and what frustrates them. Come alongside them and act as their voice.
Quit trying to speak to everyone. Instead carve out your niche. Become a megaphone for the hopes, dreams, and heartache of a target audience. You say what they wish they could put into words.
That’s how you get a core audience to listen to your message and share it with others.
But controversy is only ONE of the secrets of attracting attention.
In the March issue of the Monthly Mentor Club coming up in just a few days, I’ll be sharing the 10 principles of the Authority Architecture™.
Discover how you too can command attention in your market. Position yourself as the go-to- authority in your industry.
This allows you to attract more new customers, keep them for years (or even decades) longer, and charge premium prices.
This issue will be mailed out on March the 1st.
Of course you get a load of other bonuses just for giving the Club a try. Find out more about everything available plus secure your copy of the upcoming March issue showing you how to position yourself as the premier authority in your market.
