Email Fundamental Fear and Failure

A couple of days ago I covered the 7 fears sabotaging your email profits.

All of those fears come back to playing not to lose instead of playing to win.

When you play to win, you take calculated risks to achieve greater rewards.

You step outside your comfort zone.

That’s what being an entrepreneur is about.

When you play not to lose, you minimize the risks…but you get little or no rewards.

Your subscribers are desperately searching for guidance.

No one wants to be pushed or forced.  Everyone recoils from in-your-face sales people.

But we all want to be led by someone who has our best interests at heart.

Are you the person they’re looking for?

Are you prepared to lead them, guide them, and show them the correct path?

Are you prepared to be their most trusted adviser?

That’s the easiest way to describe success with email.

Be their most trusted adviser.

Demonstrate how much you care by sharing the mistakes you’ve made.

Be willing to take the heat by standing up against the lies in your industry.

Give them the truth even when it hurts.

There are subscribers on your list that need you to stand up and direct them towards your products and services.  They’re the best solutions for them.

Others may not be the right clients for you.  If they unsubscribe, it’s good for both you and them.

The fundamental fear is whether you’re willing to claim that Trusted Adviser position.

It’s tough sometimes.  I understand.

I’m not perfect.  I make mistakes just like you do.

All you can do is your best.  You study your subject.  You test it.  You work with clients and customers.  And you share from experience what you know.

You ask yourself, “Am I worthy of becoming their adviser?”

That’s the wrong question.  It will paralyze you.    You’ll always have a reason you don’t feel worthy enough.

Instead change the question around.  Are they worthy of you?

Some subscribers won’t be.  They’ll leave.  That’s OK.

Dedicate yourself to helping those looking for a trusted adviser.
