Freedom and Purpose

What does an online business mean to you?

For me, it’s about freedom.

I’ve never had a goal of building a massive business with a large staff.

That’s not me.

And it doesn’t describe the majority of my clients either.

There are multiple ways I could scale my business to a much larger level, but I choose not to do so.

And that’s one of the reasons I like online business so much.

It’s your choice.

You choose the market you want to serve. I recommend a niche where you can find a hungry buying audience, you have value to share, and you will be interested in the topic for years to come.

Once you’ve chosen your market, there are multiple business models you can put in place.

Again, I choose freedom.

I help a limited number of clients one-on-one.

The insights I gain from seeing ongoing results in more than a dozen niche markets helps me publish my print newsletter for my Monthly Mentor Club members each month.

In addition, I offer courses on specific topics.

I’ve helped multiple clients do massive launches, but I personally avoid them.

It’s too much hassle.

Again, it’s your choice.

What will you do with your freedom?

My advice is to combine the freedom with a sense of purpose.

Make a difference for the audience you serve.

As a home-based or small business owner you don’t have to go after a mass audience.

Instead, you can serve an ideal client that has a specific desperate problem or a burning desire they want to fulfill.

You can get to know them by speaking to them directly or even corresponding with them by email.

Instead of trying to speak to everyone…you laser focus on helping your ideal clients.

What is their desperate problem or burning desire?

How can you make a difference in their lives?

How can you position what you offer in such a way that competition no longer matters?

And how can you do it while flowing in your natural gifts and not giving up on your freedom?

That’s an important question…because of a lot of people ‘lose themselves’ in their business as they give up everything else in their life for the hustle.

They build a monster that consumers their energy and their life…and they eventually become a burned out husk of who they really are.

I’m not saying it will be easy.

And I’m most definitely not claiming you can build a successful online business without putting in the work.

There will be times you have to invest ‘too much time’ while building momentum.

But you should have the goal in mind.

Create something that works for you…instead of you working for it.
