“Everybody has a plan until they get punched in the mouth.”
There are a lot of armchair online marketers.
They’ve studied the courses. They talk the talk. But they’re not in the game.
If you want to succeed online, you have to get out there and take a few punches to the face.
Get your nose bloodied.
Not everything is going to work according to your carefully made plans.
It seems like there is always a little chaos.
And that’s OK. The money is in solving problems.
There are people who are NEVER going to make it online because they’re so afraid of making mistakes.
They’re waiting for the perfect market, perfect product, or perfect system.
Perfection never comes.
You have to learn to deal with ‘good enough’ and know how to improve it every step along the way.
Be willing to make transitions in your business.
You might not serve the same market forever. I’ve seen multiple clients eventually either broaden their audience or narrow down their audience to better focus on their Ideal Clients.
You start with one good source of traffic, but you expand into others as your business grows.
What happens if Facebook suddenly cancels your ad account?
Or Youtube demonetizes all your videos?
Or Paypal shuts down your account?
Those are all possibilities of the world we live in. Do this long enough, and you’re eventually going to get punched in the face…multiple times over your career.
Maybe it’s something totally outside of business. A family member gets sick and you need to take care of them. The hours you can invest in your business are suddenly cut in half.
Success online takes a measure of pig-headed stubbornness.
No matter what challenges you face or whatever else is going on in your life, you’re going to make this work.
Quitting is not an option.
When I started online, I was desperate.
We were in debt and I had already tried a lot of other ways to start my own business.
If this didn’t work, I didn’t know what we would do.
What motivates you to keep moving forward even when you get punched in the face?
Maybe you can’t stand all the politics at a corporate job.
Maybe it’s the money and freedom you desire from an online business.
Maybe it’s your mission. You care about your customers and providing a solution to their problem.
Maybe it’s because you surround yourself with other winners…to cheer each other on.
