I’ve done a lot of website reviews…with clients, in my monthly club, and at workshops.
One of the comments that always comes up is, “You need more proof.”
It’s so common I could shut my eyes, not even look at the website, and say it.
“You need more proof.”
No matter what you’re selling, one of your biggest hurdles is people simply don’t believe you.
They’ve been burned before.
You’re a marketer. And by nature, you’re not to be trusted. You’re lumped in with all the other scammers who have a few bucks to set up a website.
Each promise you make needs to be backed up with a form of proof.
That proof could be testimonials, case studies, scientific studies, expert quotes, stories, photos, videos, media logos, etc.
What if you don’t have any of that?
If you’re just starting, you don’t have any testimonials. Maybe you’re limited in other forms of proof also.
Are you ready for a form of proof that beats the pants off everything else?
It’s a personal recommendation from a trusted friend.
Let’s say your buddy Joe recommends a movie to you. He says, “You’ve got to see this!”
You aren’t likely to ask Joe for any other form of proof.
You’re not going to ask for what experts or studies prove it’s a good movie.
Just his recommendation is good enough if he has been right in the past.
How do you claim that trusted position online?
Subscribers don’t give it to you on day one. They might even give it to you the first month.
But you keep consistently emailing.
You’re there week in and week out.
You send advice. You share stories. You make recommendations.
Over time that relationship is established.
You’re promoted to trusted advisor status.
You don’t take this trust lightly. You honor it by only recommending products and services that are in the best interests of your subscribers.
And they buy.
But it is NOT as easy as just sending out ‘more content.’
There are thousands of frustrated email marketers who deliver high quality content every single week to their lists.
Yet, people aren’t buying from them.
It doesn’t make sense.
They blame Gmail tabs…or Yahoo…or Aweber.
Or they say email is dead.
I hear it all the time.
But my clients are cleaning up with email.
I’ve seen the results in dozens of different markets.
Email is not dead. It is BOOMING if you’re doing it correctly.
I’ll just leave this here…
It’s your choice. Tap into the greatest form of proof and profits for an internet business…or continue the way you were going.
