You only have a few seconds to grab the attention of your website visitors.
You’re competing with thousands of websites all clamoring for attention. Something else, even more entertaining than you, is literally only a click or two away.
If you don’t grab their eyeballs with something that fills them with so much curiosity that you literally force them to read more…then you’ve lost them.

I’ve talked in the past about the 80/20 rule. It works in every area of business and life. By focusing your effort on the 20% that’s vital, you can create 80% of your results.
On your website, the headline is one of these elements. There is only one other on-site component that’s more important than the headline. But let’s deal with the headline right now.
Top copywriters often invest hours in creating the right headline. They review the competition. They write dozens of their own headlines. And they mix and match all their different ideas until they have several possibilities to test.
But what if you’re just getting started with headlines…or you just want a faster way to create strong headlines for emails or blog posts?
The easiest solution is modeling headlines which have worked dozens (or even hundreds) of times in the past.
For example, “How to…BENEFIT”
That’s the most basic headline formula. The subject line of this email is based off that formula.
Here’s another one.
“Do You Make These Mistakes in English?””
It works because of the curiosity. What mistakes are there? Am I making them?
– Do You Make These Mistakes in Dating?
– Do You Make These Mistakes on Linkedin?
– Do You Make These Mistakes When Buying a New Car?
– Do You Make These Mistakes in Real Estate Investing?
It’s simple, but it includes both curiosity and an implied benefit for reading.
With just a small collection of proven headlines, you have the tools to create attention grabbing headlines quickly.
But recently I found an even better way to create magnetic headlines using a fun game.
