I don’t talk about the ‘mental game’ of online marketing very often, but this is vital.

I’ve spoken to many customers and clients over the years who are held back by fear and procrastination.

It’s easy to get paralyzed because of all the options online.

It’s natural to be afraid when you see tough competitors in any profitable market.

Who are you to think you have something to share with the world?

I know the feeling…because I’ve definitely been there. Pizza delivery driving isn’t great preparation for earning millions online.

The voices in my head told me this wouldn’t work out for me either. Nothing else ever worked. Why am I wasting my time and the last of the money my wife and I had?

It’s hard to overcome those feelings and move forward when everything looks so overwhelming.

The secret to moving forward is taking it one step at a time.

But there’s another little secret to tapping into the confidence you need.

Quit thinking so much about yourself.

You’re not sure what you have to share. You’re not sure if you can do it.

Start thinking about your mission instead.

Think about the audience and their Desperate Problem.

Dr. Glenn Livingston has said multiple times that you need to research your audience until it changes you as a person.

But ‘research’ sounds like a little too clinical of a word.

It’s really about getting to know your audience and developing empathy for them.

What is a problem you can help people solve?

You don’t need to be the premier expert in the world on the topic. I’m sure everyone could point to someone they feel who is more qualified for the job.

It’s about knowing enough to help people.

See, I don’t know your background, your experience, or your market.

But what I know is there are people out there waiting for you to help them.

And you’ll be tempted to hold back. This is true both when you’re starting out…and for those who have been in business for years.

There are people who need what you know!

One of the secrets to overcoming your fear is finding that mission.

As I’ve mentioned in other emails, it doesn’t have to be a lifelong passion. Your passions and interests may change over time.

It’s simply a mission that motivates you to move forward and help others in spite of the overwhelm and the fear.

I can’t promise it will be easy.

But it’s worth it.

This month’s issue of the Monthly Mentor Club was about How to Choose Hungry, Buying Markets.

But it went beyond just choosing the market. It was about understanding that market and finding your unfair advantage in that market.

Whether you’re just starting out…or you’ve been in business for years…you can turn your market into consistent, ongoing profits with the Monthly Mentor Club.
