I was sick last week.
I’m not talking about a 24-hour flu. This punished me all week.
It started up on the Friday before. Had two webinars scheduled and an interview. By the time I finally made it through the day, I was worn out. Throughout the weekend my throat hurt so bad I could barely swallow. Headache, nose clogged up, aches and pain, all that garbage.
It took all last week to recover.
I spoke to several clients, and they could have told you how nasally I sounded. I was functional but didn’t sound well.
I answered emails and did client calls which were already scheduled, but pretty much did the minimum for the rest of the week.
Some days, or whole weeks, just don’t go as planned.
No battle plan survives contact with the enemy.
Sometimes life just gets in the way.
You could get taken out of commission by an illness. There could be a family emergency. Or you might even find yourself in a ‘slump’ at some point…where you’re not quite motivated to move forward.
As an online entrepreneur you have to adapt no matter what comes along.
That’s what we do. We turn challenges into opportunities.
Rarely does everything go perfectly according to plan, but it’s oh so sweet when it does.
I commonly hear from friends and clients that everything seems to take two to three times as long as they expect initially.
We overestimate what we can accomplish in a single day, week, or month.
And pretty much every entrepreneur has a huge list of “Should-do’s”, many of which they may never make it to in this lifetime.
That’s why making the right choices about where to invest your time are so important.
You can’t do everything.
And the more things you put on your plate, the less likely you do any of them well.
Let’s take traffic for example.
There are hundreds of methods you could use to attract visitors to your website.
But you can’t afford to waste time even thinking about all these methods.
Instead, you need one really good method…you can repeat over and over again…to attract the right kind of visitors and buyers to your website.
Once you have a system in place to consistently attract the right kind of traffic to your site, then you can consider expanding it out with additional methods.
But how do you choose the right traffic system for you?
Should you focus on free traffic methods such as blogging, podcasting, Youtubing, etc.?
Or should you invest money in paid methods like Google, Bing, or Facebook?
