I’ve been in the online information business for over 22 years now.

Just saying that makes me feel old!

I’ve sold reports, ebooks, physical books, video courses, templates, VHS videos, group coaching classes, protégé programs, bulky home study courses, workshops, one-on-one coaching, reprint rights, membership sites, a print newsletter, and other types of content.

One of the reasons I love this business so much is because the ideas NEVER end.

There are always more ideas for products than you have time to create.

Especially if you keep your eyes open…

What questions are subscribers and customers asking you?

And if they’re not asking you any questions…maybe you need to send out an email where you ask them the biggest challenges they’re facing.

What is already selling in your market?

You don’t want to copy someone else’s ideas, because then you’re just following the leader instead of being a leader.

But how can you innovate and improve on what is already out there?

Can you give more value?

Can you help customers get results faster or easier?

What is missing from the current solutions?

Million-dollar ideas don’t occur in a vacuum. Instead, they come from observing what’s already working…and often combining several ideas together.

What do you see selling in other non-related markets?

For example, let’s say you saw a product called, “How to Transform Your Life & Career in 30 Days or Less.”

And maybe it had specific steps for each day of the plan.

Depending on your market, you could use that to come up with your own idea:

  • How to Double Your Chiropractic Business in 30 Days or Less
  • How to Lose 15 Pounds in 30 Days or Less
  • How to Transform Your Marriage in 30 Days or Less
  • How to Triple Your Google Display Network Leads in 30 Days or Less
  • How to Train Your German Shepherd in 30 Days or Less
  • How to Get Pregnant Naturally in 30 Days or Less

That’s just an example. That doesn’t mean you should run out and create products like this.

But you might want to consider whether a ’30 Day Challenge’ of some type fits your market…

All the good ideas are NOT already taken.

You can always find ways to further specialize your message or innovate new improvements.

Remember this. Obstacles are opportunities for entrepreneurs. If there is a problem people are willing to pay to have solved, then there is money in the market.

And one of the beautiful things about the information business is that hungry buyers don’t just buy or two information products. They collect them.
