What if Facebook Punches You in the Mouth?

Hopefully you have a systematic plan for growing your online business.

But what happens when you get punched in the mouth?

It’s easy to freeze up. In a moment your whole plan goes out the window.

Maybe Facebook ads are your #1 traffic source.

Then, without warning, your Facebook ad account gets banned.

You didn’t have a single ad rejection.

You had multiple profitable ads you were scaling to higher ad spends.

Leads and sales were consistently coming in.

But it is all gone in an instant.

The first step is to contact them and see if you can get your account back, but that isn’t guaranteed.

As a small business, you’re just a minnow to Facebook.

They’d much rather focus on their ideal clients, big corporations with massive budgets who don’t need to earn a return on their advertising.

Sometimes they don’t care whether you go away angry…they’re fine with you just going away.

Or maybe it’s not Facebook…instead you receive a right hook to the jaw from Google.

There is an algorithm change and your organic traffic instantly drops in half.

I’ve seen it happen.

And it’s painful…whether it’s Google, a social media site, or a partner.

Your plan immediately goes out the window.

And those are just two potential scenarios you could face in your online business.

You could create an offer that doesn’t sell.

Your website could experience a hacker attack or some other tech problem.

A family or health emergency could take you out of the game for weeks…or even longer.

Yeah, yeah, I know I’m being a little too negative here.

But I’ve seen clients experience ALL the above over the years.

Not relying on just one traffic source is a good recommendation, but it can be tough to manage multiple traffic sources in the early phases.

And that doesn’t solve the other problems.

This is one of the reasons I recommend focusing on your email list…whether it’s a list of free subscribers, or even better a list of buyers.

If you lose a key traffic source, you can run a special offer to your list to make up the difference in revenue until you’re able to get another traffic source going.

If one promotional offer doesn’t work, you can quickly test something else.

If your website goes down, you could direct visitors to an affiliate offer.

If there’s an emergency that takes you away, your list will wonder what in the world happened to you…and you could quickly send something out because they’ll be eagerly awaiting your next message.

Does this solve every problem you could face?

No, but it makes your life a whole lot easier…and gives you options in almost every scenario.

The secret is knowing to how consistently connect with your audience.

Build a relationship with them.

Make more sales.
