How valuable is your brand?
I’m not just talking about your product or your website, although those are part of this.
I’m talking about your personal brand.
When someone thinks of your name, what comes to their mind?
What do they associate with you?
This may vary based on their relationship with you.
The “brand” your spouse or closest friends see may be totally different than the one your boss or co-workers have come to know.
What would they say about you and what emotions have they connected to you?
“A good name is to be more desired than great wealth; Favor is better than silver and gold.”

Branding doesn’t just apply to Fortune 500 companies.
It’s not a logo, jingle, color scheme, or tagline…although those can all be part of an overall brand.
A brand is how others see you.
What can they count on you for?
What gifts, talents, and skills do you bring to the table?
What are your character traits? How do you treat others?
How have you helped them, made them laugh, or made them feel about themselves?
There are so many more elements I could bring in.
Basically, your brand is the collection of all experiences and emotions they connect with you.
Let’s move to the entrepreneurial arena.

There’s a lot to unpack in that sentence. One way to think of branding is as a signal for the emotions your clients you will experience.
Here’s what they will receive and how it will make them feel.
That comes through in everything you do, from the products you release to the customer service you provide.
It especially comes through in how you communicate with your audience.
What stories are you telling?
What is your tone of voice?
How are you different from the competition?
In other words, how are you ‘uniquely you’?
This applies to your website, videos, interviews, social media, and especially in email.
I remember years back when I first studied copywriting.
I read a lot of Gary Halbert sales letters.
I was able to identify letters he had written for other businesses even if it wasn’t attributed to him. He had a style that was identifiable even when writing for others.
