Time feels like it is accelerating.

Or perhaps it’s simply that I’m getting older.

2023 is almost in the books.

And in my opinion, it was a great one.

Sure, there are all kinds of problems in the world.

But business is booming online.

How will you make 2024 your best year ever?

My advice…keep it simple.

One of the mistakes people make with New Years Resolutions is making them too complicated. They try to change too much all at once.

They do the same thing in an online business.

They try to model a super-complicated funnel from someone who has been in business for over a decade…and may have a team of employees implementing every step for them.

Instead, choose one activity you can control that leads to the goal you want to achieve.

Think of it as a domino reaction where tapping the first domino in line knocks down all the rest.

Create a habit that leads to success.

For example, I gained a lot of weight early on in my online business. All that sitting will do it. The first simple step I took was to quit ‘drinking calories’. Cut out the Mountain Dews and increase the water. By itself, that helped me drop over 40 pounds. Later I developed several additional good habits that helped me lose the rest. But it started with one domino.

What is that domino online?

It’s your email list.

It’s the key to your income.

Build a list. Communicate consistently. Send offers.

Where do you start?

Begin writing emails.

But what if you don’t have a list yet?

Set up a list.

What will you write about?

That depends on your audience and your message.

What are the desperate problems you can help your readers solve?

Make a list of those problems.

Follow it up with a few other questions…

  • Why haven’t they solved each of those problems yet?
  • What is wrong with the common wisdom about these problems?
  • What is a simpler, easier path for them to solve these problems?

Answering these questions should give you a lot to write about initially…especially once you add some personal stories and experiences into the mix.

What offers can you send?

Again, that depends on the audience and the problems you’re helping them solve. You could start by promoting affiliate programs. You could offer a service or one-on-one coaching to start…transitioning into group coaching as your audience grows. Or you could put together an online course. You could do all the above.

What about growing the list?

Multipurpose the same content you’re using for the emails to publish and attract subscribers.

Choose a list building method that’s a good fit for you and your audience. 

It needs to fit your skills, personality, and the time you have available.

Create your plan and follow it consistently.
